“Me want some Dua Guah Zi!”
It was easily foreseen from the events in the previous episode that this chapter of Kaiba would mostly be a prelude to the first episode, telling of Kaiba and Neiro before they were separated.

My attempt at appraising Kara no Kyoukai 3: Tsuukaku Zanryuu ended in failure. I blame Asagami Fujino for that; I’m mixed on how I’m supposed to feel about her.

Gendo on Rei when confronted with Shinji’s refusal to pilot EVA-01
I read Leuconoe’s new post on deicide and thought the final question interesting to explore. (if our personal views don’t align with a particular story’s internal morality, do we judge the characters from our viewpoint, or the show’s?) Unfortunately, I have already picked a side with regards to it and have now this post (which started out as my comment to on his blog) to try to explain why I stand by it.

The list is out and I’m pretty excited about next season. Evident is large number of ‘moe’ shows but I can pick off four I’m definitely going to be trying (and possibly blogging about if they’re good (and I reckon most of them will be (nesting parentheses rocks))).

A Tanaka Yoshiki adaptation; without a doubt the juggernaut of the season. Almost everyone is going to be watching this, and who can blame us? Click the link to look at the star-studded credits!

Mostly because I watched Nodame Cantabile and loved it. With Honey and Clover’s director in charge, you can’t go wrong in the romance-comedy genre (or can you? I’ve been hearing some pretty bad things about Bokura ga Ita.)

A big gamble here. I know absolutely nothing about this one except that the picture looks awesome. Would anyone with information regarding this title be so kind to furnish me with it? It will be greatly appreciated.

Yet another Madhouse title. I’m greatly interested in this one because the plot looks intriguing. Hopefully it will be as fulfilling as Kaiba has been hitherto.

Obligatory picture of an anime chick. Apparently, she has something to do with magic too.
I recently rewatched a segment of Mononoke and began thinking of magic’s role in anime. Immediately, a number of titles which had affected me, whether through the apparent novel, cliche or misuse of magic sprang into my mind, and I thought it’d be fun to write about and identify the roles magic plays in anime.

There. I said it. Kaiba is awesome.
Kaiba is one of the ever-so-rare series I label that glorious adjective with. It’s 2am on a working day morning, and having just consumed this awesome show’s 9th episode (I just couldn’t stop after the 8th), I caved and am now writing this silly fanboy entry you all have your eyes on. It can’t be helped. Kaiba is awesome.

“I know it’s tough when someone stares from behind when you’re half-naked but I’m a fan and fans do stupid things like that… why the concerned face?”

No, this is not a random picture of Alpha.
I’m madeener and I’m an anime nerd. Animation is my medium of choice when it comes to entertainment and I’ve been with it for the majority of my nineteen years. Fantasy is my world and escapism is my philosophy.
So, how did this little dark alley of a blog come about? Let’s just say that I, like a multitude of other people out there, have thoughts I wish to convey to an audience other than myself. Blogging has empowered people with such a tool and I’m not one to reject its popularity and the culture it has spawned on an international level. This blog will probably turn out to be a collection of my thoughts on visual culture and hopefully an enjoyable read to you.
(Long, boring introduction ahead!)
