In a time when technology allows us to show pictures so quickly that it gives the illusion of fluid motion, the intentional reduction of these optimum frame-rates to create a jumping, fragmented sequence still has plenty of appeal. Perhaps its abstract flavour and rapid transformation of frames gives us an impression of exaggerated speed and excitement, compared to ‘perfect’ animation which we see all the time and may associate with the mundane.

Or maybe it’s just because music videoes still look so awesome in the format.
